Bournville Infant School is committed to safeguarding all of our children and promoting their welfare. We take our responsibility very seriously; we have a duty of care. We help children to identify what makes them feel safe and teach them how to stay safe through our broad and balanced curriculum.
All of our staff are trained annually in line with Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board guidelines. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection/Safeguarding Policy, which can be viewed below and in the Policies section of our website.
There may be times when we need to call Children’s Services to ask for advice or even make a referral about a child. We ask that you respect our professionalism should we need to do this; in some cases, we may need to do this without seeking parental involvement to help ensure the safety and well-being of a child.
If you have any concerns, or would like to speak to a member of staff, our Designated Senior Lead is Mrs Kathryn Tilbury (Assistant Head Teacher); our Designated Senior Persons are Miss Kate Bailey and miss Lucy Whittaker. Mrs Esther Pemble (Head Teacher) is also a Senior Lead; you may also contact our Lead Governor for safeguarding, Mrs Amanda Grant (Email email@example.com). Alternatively, you can contact directly Children’s Advice and Support Services for the South Birmingham area on 0121 303 1888.
