Hello Robins 🙂
Well done on completing another wonderful week in Year 1! This week in English we have continued looking at the author Oliver Jeffers and we focused on the story ‘How to catch a star’. We all loved reading this story and you were able to answer questions about your favourite parts and any links you could make between this story and other Oliver Jeffers books. We also did a lovely piece of writing all about how to catch a star and you all wrote down some suggestions. They were brilliant! We had bouncing on a trampoline, using jet boots and flying on Winnie the witches broomstick!
In Maths this week we explored related facts and we looked at how from one part whole model we can write two addition calculations and two subtraction calculations. We also used our more than, less than and equal to symbols to compare number sentences.
In Art this week we used paint to create our own Willow Pattern plate. They all look so beautiful, you painted so carefully. In Jigsaw we read the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ and we used this story to help us think about what we can do when we are faced with a challenge.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend Robins and I look forward to seeing you next week where we have our pop-up restaurant to look forward to!
Love Miss Spencer x
