We had another super week of learning in Year 1 this week!
In Maths this week we looked at addition. We learnt about the method of counting on when adding numbers together and we also used numicon to find and learn our number bonds to 10 and 20. We realised that our number bonds to 10 and 20 are linked together and you answered some tricky questions about this learning. Next week we will be moving onto subtraction.
In English this week we looked at the poem ‘Soggy Greens’ which made us laugh! We thought about what was happening in the poem, if we could spot any patterns and what our favourite part of the poem was. On Friday you all became poets and wrote your own version of the poem using different foods. I thought they were absolutely brilliant and they really brought a smile to my face! Well done Robins!
In Art this week we did some painting and explored how to make different shades of blue, in preparation for when we paint our own Willow pattern plate. In Geography this week we got creative and made some fact files all about China; we used our senses and thought about what we might see there, what we might hear and what we might taste!
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend Robins and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for another super week 🙂
Love Miss Spencer x
