By Debbie Barlow on Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Year 2. No Comments

Hello everyone.

Welcome to this week’s Oak Learning Blog. We have had another fabulous week in Oak class. read on to find out what we a have  been learning about this week…

This week a mystery book arrived in our classroom thanks to our Power of reading project. We have been introduced to the characters Pattan and his wife Kanni. We know the story is set in India and Pattan found a seed and it grew into a a pumpkin. The children have wrote descriptions of the setting and of our main character. We cant wait to find out what will happen next. The children have made some excellent predictions and inferences.

We have been continuing out work on money. This week we have been selecting coins and notes to make amounts and totalling money. Please keep revising recognising and totalling notes and coins at home as this is such an important life skill.

In the afternoon we have started our design and technology project for this term.We have designed and made a mock up of a purse, bag or wallet we would like to make from fabric. Next week we will begin the long process of sewing the fabric! In science we looked at plants in and around our school. In Jigsaw we continued our work on differences and in R.E. we looked at a story from the bible all about what Christians believe about suffering.

Please continue to send in red homework books so I can put target sheets in if you haven’t already done so. Also this is the final week before we test spellings so please have that last practise.

See you tomorrow

Love Mrs Barlow xxx
