Hello Swans,

First of all, a huge well done to all of you for completing your first half term in year one!! You have all worked so hard and I am extremely proud of all of you!

Thank you to all the parents for attending parents evening this week, it was lovely to chat with you.

This week we came to the end of our Dinosaur topic by writing instructions¬†on ‘How to Grow a Dinosaur.’ We planted some magic beans and strange things started to happen around school! Mrs Lynock heard mysterious noises upstairs and we came back after lunch today to find our classroom had been invaded by what we can only think were dinosaurs!

In maths we have been learning how to use a number line to support with counting, greater than and less than.

In science we tested materials to find out which ones would be suitable to make a waterproof hat.. Poor Steve the Swan got a little bit wet during the experiment.

Our author for next half term is Oliver Jeffers so if you have any stories written by him then please feel free to bring them into school.

Finally Swans, I hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable break and I look forward to hearing all about it on November 5th.

Love Miss Glover x
