Happy Sunday Robins 🙂

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend so far. I have noticed lots of signs of Autumn through this weekend. I have seen lots of beautiful orange leaves and spotted lots of conkers. Have you seen any signs of Autumn?

We have had another great week in Robins class and you have all worked very hard. We started the week by reading our new story ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy; which is all about a very adventurous bear who went on a journey to the moon and he met a friendly owl along the way. We wrote some setting descriptions of space this week and a character description of Baby Bear. In our writing we focused on using finger spaces. I was very proud of your writing- well done!

In Maths this week we looked at representing numbers. We learnt that you can represent numbers in lots of different ways, for example, for the number 2, you could draw a picture of 2 rockets, you could write the number word for 2 and you can use maths resources like numicon to show 2. You all showed a great understanding of this and represented numbers independently. Well done!

On Thursday we had a lovely RE lesson and we learnt all about Harvest and how it is celebrated. You then wrote a thank you poem and wrote down some things you wanted to say thank for you. We had some great ideas such as, our school, our families and our food. Then on Friday I was a very proud teacher watching you all perform our Harvest songs at the Church. You all sang beautifully and walked over to the Church so sensibly.

We have another great week to look forward to with lots of exciting learning to be done!

See you all tomorrow.

Love Miss Spencer xx

I liked doing my handwriting and doing the monster words and caterpiller words (mum doesn’t know what this is!)

    See you tomorrow
