Robin class- Autumn 1, Week 1

Hello Robins,

Wow, I can’t believe we have finished our first week already! I hope you enjoyed your first week in Year 1; you did so well and were so grown up, you made me a very proud teacher. We started the week by finding out where everything goes and by Wednesday morning you were all experts! You know where book bags, coats, PE kits and water bottles go. Well done!

Then on Wednesday we had a writing day and you all wrote some super sentences about the things you did in the summer holidays. I spotted lots of very careful handwriting. Then on Thursday you were all sent home with two new reading books and a sharing book. If you get chance to read over the weekend that would be brilliant- make sure a grown up signs your reading diary and we can change your books on Monday. On Friday we focused on Maths and you wowed me with your number formation! I also some brilliant independent learning all about one more and one less.

In the afternoon we have been doing some handwriting as a class and you have started writing in your brand new Year 1 handwriting books. You really impressed me with your pencil grips and letter formation.

Next week we have lots to look forward to, we are starting PE on Monday with Mr Coley, we will be starting our computing learning and beginning to do some work about a special story. I hope you all have a great weekend, it was lovely to meet you all this week properly and I am looking forward to our year in Year 1.

Love from Miss Spencer x
