Hello everyone, and welcome to another Sycamore learning blog! Just a quick post this week to tell you all what we’ve been up to over the last 5 days. Read on to find out more!
In English, we have been looking at our new Power Of Reading book, ‘The Wild’. The children have been fully immersing themselves in the story, and can’t wait to find out what happens next! In Maths, we have been revising fractions; I have set some Sumdog homework if you want to keep practicing your skills over the weekend. In DT, we have now mostly finished making the chassis for our vehicles, and some of us have begun to paint our designs. In PE, Mr Coley hosted a Y2 mini-World Cup tournament, which everyone enjoyed taking part in! If anyone wants to do some research at home this weekend, we are finding out a bit about our World Cup country, Poland. Bring your research in on Monday morning for a special sticker and the chance to move straight to Gold! And lastly, but probably most excitingly, we have also begun to practice our summer show, The Jungle Book! Everyone now knows their role; the actors, narrators, singers and dancers all seem very keen to do their best. We have been practicing the songs in music with Mrs Vaughan; any further practice at home would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for reading the blog this week. We are entering a very exciting time of the school year, with lots of new and interesting things to do, so check back next week to find out what we’ve been up to. The weather forecast is due to be very hot next week, so make sure to send in water bottles, sunhats and come wearing suncream if needed!
Have a lovely weekend, I’ll see you on Monday!
Mr Hall 🙂
