Polli:nation PHASE 2

Our ‘re-purposed’ site in the playground got underway today, when the tyres were filled with top soil by Mr Carter and Mr Heath and reception children planted pollinator friendly plant in. Thank you to Mum of Anna in Owls, and Mum of Rebecca in Bumblebees for donating plants for these areas.

The second installment of tyres will be delivered next week.

We will be leaving areas of bare ground beneath the two beech trees. This is so that the solitary and bumble bees have homes – they go underground to lay eggs, so it is important that we nurture these spaces on our school grounds.

The bus area is looking great after a week of watering, our sensory planters are looking and smelling lovely.
