Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the Gingerbread Man……
We have had a great week using our imaginations…continuing our Wonderland journey we have been making a Wonderland 3D map, (it was fun getting THAT up on the wall!),the children have made houses and rides to display on the map and we are putting finishing touches up next week so will post a picture in next weeks blog. Thank you to Mrs Nguyen and Mrs Green for their hard work organising how the children worked….they LOVED the 3 day project.
In maths this week we have been revising our learning about 3D shape, building castles and also looking at addition and subtraction on the maths table.
In Literacy our focus has been on labelling parts of a plant, with attention being on the children’s independent recall of their phonics.
On Thursday Mrs Merrifield took the children outside to exercise their green fingers…we planted broad beans, and hope to hold a competition to see whose beanstalk grows the tallest!
Today the children investigated state change with Mrs Nguyen, by cooking beans. They were able to observe, predict and discuss what happened to the beans once cooked.
Photo’s from this week’s activities are below.
Well done to Heath and Hudson for sharing their experience about Rory the Rights Respecting Rabbit…we discussed the Right to stay safe, we loved the road signs you sketched in the book boys, very well done. This week’s recipient of Rory is Lorenzo and we look forward to sharing your experience next week.
This week’s Work of the Week award goes to Samuel, who not only built a fantastic 3D tower, could also show lots of knowledge about 3D shape properties…well done Samuel.
Have a super weekend!
Best Wishes, Mrs Merrifield
