Sycamore Learning Blog: Summer 1 Week 2

By Mr Hall on Friday, April 27, 2018 in News. 3 Comments

Hello everyone and welcome to another Sycamore Learning Blog! Just a quick blog post this week to let you know what we’ve been up to.

In English this week, we planned and wrote our own story based on ‘Katie Morag and the Tiresome Ted’, but this time from Ted’s point of view. We had some fantastic stories from some soon-to-be future authors!

In Maths this week, we have continued to practice some of our four operation calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) as well as looking at measuring height and length. On Thursday and Friday we recapped some shape, and how to find a vertical line of symmetry to create a reflection or mirror image of a shape.

We have been up to lots of topic work this week as well! In Geography, we chose a country in the UK to research and created our very own fact files. In PE we continued to learn about Maypole dancing and put our dances to music. And in Computing we used Google to become dinosaur fact finders, developing our skills of using the internet safely and responsibly.

Thanks for reading this week – have a lovely weekend, and see you on Monday!

Mr Hall 🙂

    Dear Mr Hall,
Did you have a nice weekend? I did. I liked writing the story from ted’s point of view. I liked when Ted was found. I liked maypole dancing. It was great fun. I enjoyed the learning about symettry with mirrors. I am looking forward to the Jungle book.
    See you on Monday
