Afternoon Swans,

We have had a lovely day today celebrating Chinese new year. This morning we made lanterns and practised writing using Chinese symbols and this afternoon the children have enjoyed a dance workshop. They all looked wonderful in their red clothes! Just a reminder that next Thursday (15th) is year one’s pop up Chinese restaurant. If you haven’t yet paid please could you pay £2 as soon as possible please.

As well as celebrating Chinese new year this week, we have also been writing fact files about China and we learnt all about school in China. Ask the children what they can remember about school in China!

As part of our art project the children have created beautiful willow pattern plates.

In maths we have been doing lots of work on subtraction, using counters, cubes, number lines and tens frames. The children have solved lots of number problems and answered some very tricky reasoning questions.

Just  a reminder that book bags need to be in school every day with core words, reading books and reading diaries inside please.

Have a relaxing weekend!

Love Miss Glover.
