Oak Learning Blog – Spring 1 week 4

By Debbie Barlow on Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Year 2. No Comments

Hello everyone,

Welcome to this weeks Learning Blog. Read on to see what we have been learning this week

In English this week, we have been writing our own story based on the book we have been reading:  Grendel A cautionary tale about chocolate by David Lucas.  The children created their own monster who was rather too fond of their favourite food. They wrote some fabulous stories showing great stamina and lots of creative talent. Well done my super authors!

In Maths, we have been looking at multiplication in lots of different ways. We have also been practicing the 2s and 5s times tables, and will be looking at the the 10s on Monday. See if you can practice some at home too!

In Art, we had a go at continuing a drawing by LS Lowry and imitating his style using sketching techniques. In computing we looked at ways of presenting data and in RE we learnt all about the Muslims and Harj. In jigsaw we added to last weeks garden of Dreams with our own goals. See if you can tell your family what your goal is.

Just a few notices for parents this week. Our trip to Cadbury World is on Wednesday and children should wear school uniform; Chinese New Year Day is on Friday and children should wear own clothes or some red clothes; and please can I have any more parent’s meeting replies if I’ve not had them already.

Thanks for reading! See you next week.

Love Mrs Barlow xxx
