Swan Class – Summer 1 Week 2

By Katie Glover on Monday, April 25, 2016 in Year 1. 2 Comments

Hello Swans,

Well done for all of your hard work during our second week of term. I was very impressed by how focused you were in maths, we learnt how to solve addition and subtraction equations going over the tens boundary, no wonder everyone earned a sticker!

The highlight of the week was the visit from the animal man. We enjoyed meeting lots of interesting creatures such as snakes, a frog, an owl and a cute hedgehog. We were a bit wary of the skunk and nobody volunteered to hold the scorpion! There are some photos of the visit below.

This week is all about measure. We will be weighing objects using scales to see how many grams they are. Can you find any food item at home with their weight printed on the packet? How much does it weigh?

Looking forward to another lovely week, Miss Heaven x

    Dear Miss Heaven,
I like the photos, especially of the snake and frog! I remember that girl snakes and spiders are bigger than boy snakes and spiders.
I found a bag of porridge oats which weighs 1.5kg.
